Since
marijuana is largely a folk medicine, not generally recognized by the
medical establishment, the people who know most about it are those who use
it on their own. The purpose of our website is to gain access to that body
of knowledge so that we can share it with potential patients and
physicians. We are looking for two kinds of information:
- We want to learn more about the symptoms
and medical problems for which people have found marijuana useful and
how it compares to conventional drugs in the treatment of a particular
symptom or syndrome. Some of these studies and experiences will be
posted on this website. People whose accounts are posted may remain
anonymous if they wish, although most persons have chosen to use their
names. Nothing will be published on the website without the
contributor's permission.
- We would also like to learn more about
the different ways of using marijuana medically, the advantages and
disadvantages of various smoking devices and alternative methods of
preparation, including oral use, suppositories, poultices, compresses,
tinctures,
and topical solutions or salves.
Check our Guidelines for Submissions for more
information on how best to get us the information we need.
Because we are finding that the answers are
repetitious, we have decided to stop taking further questions from our web
visitors and are striving to make it easier for you to access our extensive
collection of questions and answers. The questions and answers now on the Web
site will remain, and we remain interested in your comments, observations,
and stories about medical marijuana use.
February 13, 2008 - We are
undergoing maintenance and our Exchange Submission service is currently out
of service. It will be functional by February 17, 2008. Please
come back to contribute. We apologize for any inconvenience.
